Our 12 gift ideas for this Christmas

Image
OMG DESPAIR! "My friends have it all sorted and I've no idea what  I'm getting for Christmas! Not to mention, my budget is so tight... " If that's you, we can relate.  That's why we thought it would be a great idea to get together a bunch of items that will make your life easier while making you and your family happier. And they're all fairly low budget too! (Well mostly!)  This list has something for EVERYONE. 1. Massage gun bliss Honestly, we never thought that 'bliss' and 'gun' would go on the same sentence but this is seriously a fantastic experience. It's a great de-stresser and it also helps with those muscle pains! It's got several settings so you can adjust the strength... the only downside is you need someone to hold it for you, so if you're solo, definitely get it out when your Tinder date comes round! Or, ... buy one for your mother.  2. The Tineco vacuum and mop   A bit at the top end of our budget but definitely wor...

Toxic energy

Image
"Eliminate toxic energy and watch the magic happen" Sounds great, doesn't it? And easy! But let's look at the dynamics of this statement. What exactly is toxic energy and what is meant by magic, but most importantly, why should we care?  Toxic energy comes from several sources and can have devastating effects in our lives and our loved ones'. Allowing that energy around you, will drain you, fog your perspective and can even make you sick!  So where is this energy? And how do you spot it?  Hanging out in an environment where envy, jealousy and bitterness are present, is unlikely to bring you positive outcomes. Allowing around you someone who is constantly complaining, especially those who don't really want to fix their non-problems problems, forget it, all you'll ever do is deal with never ending drama.  Toxic energy doesn't just come from people and environments. When we talk about this concept, we think about it holisticly. It's how yo...

A life aligned to your values

Image
What a great line, ha?  "A life aligned to your values" But what are values and how do we know what ours are? We like to simplify the concept by looking at our priorities in life.  Say your family is your priority number one in life, then one of your core values is family. Or someone whose priority is serving others, then service  is one of their core values.  How our values are formed, and how we shift them through our different stages in life, is something for a different post.  What we want to look at is how aligning our life to our values will make us happy. If one's core value is family , and they are trapped in a situation where they need to work 100 hour weeks, then they won't be happy because their life is NOT aligned with what is important to them. However, the same situation for someone who values dedication and hard work  above everything else, will mean that they are indeed living aligned with their values, and are living the dream. ...

The truth about money

Image
Most of us have made goals at different points in our life. One of the most common goals is probably around making more money. But, why do we want more money? The reality is, everyone that's ever been successful in life, and I mean truly successful, has never just set out to make more money. The problem is , we often spend so much time focusing on the goal of making more money that we forget about or don't think about the real reason we want more money. In reality, money is just a tool. It allows us more freedom or a better lifestyle or better choices. Money is just a means to an end, not an end to means. The famous actor Jim Carrey once said: Jim Carrey said this because he achieved more fame and wealth than most could have dreamed of and yet for a long time he wasn't happy. This is because he realised that to be truly happy, you need more than fame and money. You need to live a purposeful life - a life with meaning. Many people have just focused on becoming wealthy and ...
